CLASS DESCRIPTIONS AND TIMES:

 

 PRE-NURSERY SCHOOL:
2 ½ to 3 year olds      (must be 2 ½ by September 1st)
Monday and Friday                           9:30 - 11:00 a.m.
Monday and Friday                         11:15 - 12:45 p.m.
 
This class is geared mainly toward getting the children ready for Nursery School, the separation from their parents for a short period of time. The class emphasizes on how to share and interact with each other. The children learn their colors, textures, talk about the weather and seasons. The basic numbers 1-5 are taught. The children will work on crafts; learn songs and dances based on the different seasons and holidays. Story-time, snack time and play time is enjoyed everyday. The knowledge and skills learned in Pre-Nursery classes, although basic, are a foundation for the start of Nursery School.

 
THREE-YEAR OLD CLASSES:
Tuesday and Thursday                        9:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Tuesday and Thursday                        12:45 - 3:15 p.m.
Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday           9:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday           12:00 - 2:30 a.m.
 Monday-Wednesday-Friday                9:00 - 11:30 a.m.
 
 In this class the children will learn how to share, socialize and learn The Golden Rules. There is more structure in this class than the Pre-Nursery. The class will learn and begin to recognize numbers and letters. Each month the class focuses on a different color and/or letter. Every day there is circle time, where the children will learn the Pledge of Allegiance, update the calendar and talk about the weather. Story time is enjoyed by all. The children will make a project, enjoy a snack and have play time everyday. Clean-up is also a part of the learning process. The three-year old class prepares the children for the Pre-K class.

 

  FOUR YEAR OLD/PRE-K CLASSES:
Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday             9:00 - 11:30 a.m.

Monday through Thursday                    9:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Monday through Thursday                    12:30 - 3:00 p.m.


    Once again, socialization and sharing is stressed. Numbers and letters are the focus for preparing the children for Kindergarten. Motor skills are introduced through scissor use and writing. Four-year olds have a Pledge leader, work on the calendar and the weather during circle time. There is play time and a project everyday. The teachers work on manners and teach responsibility by having different host/hostesses each day for snack time. Throughout the year, the children will focus on various themes, such as community helpers, creation and the circus. They will visit the computer center on a regular basis and go on field trips. By the end of the school year, these children will be ready for Kindergarten.

 
The children will visit with Pastor Martin once a month for chapel.
